What is zero-knowledge architecture and why does it matter?
In a zero-knowledge architecture, the server has no knowledge of the content of the data it stores. All encryption, using an advanced industry standard, happens in your device's browser with your own private key.
The plain text of your financial vault password is never sent over the internet or to the server. As a result, even if servers are breached or equipment is seized, no third party can see your portfolio figures, loan amounts or cheques.
- Encryption in the browser before a single bit of data is sent to the server
- Data that server administrators or hackers cannot reach
- Standard web encryption algorithms (Web Crypto API)
Easy locking and unlocking with a secure vault
The first time you sign in, you set a strong password for your encryption vault. After that, just entering this password decrypts your data in the browser and makes it ready to use.
Whenever you finish using the app, you can lock the vault with a single click, which hides the figures on screen and clears the encrypted keys from the browser's temporary memory.
- Change the vault password without re-encrypting your data
- Automatic and manual locking to protect the screen from onlookers
- Encryption is mandatory for every active user account
Privacy when sharing a portfolio
If you want to share your portfolio with a partner, financial advisor or friend, the generated link carries the decryption key in the URL hash, which is never sent to the server.
The privacy mode button on every page also lets you mask sensitive figures with asterisks in a single tap, so you can use the app with peace of mind in public places.
- Secure sharing without revealing your main account password
- Instantly mask amounts with privacy mode in public places
- Full respect for user rights and no ad tracking
